My Story
Growing up I had a number of health struggles, from headaches and frequent infections to digestive issues and anxiety. I was, however, (even as a child) resistant to taking the pharmaceutical medications my family recommended. It was not until I began my studies at Pacific Rim College that my health finally started to shift. Nutrition and herbal medicine changed my life forever! This was when I knew I wanted to become a healer and share this magic with my family, friends, and community. I am passionate about empowering individuals to take their health back into their own hands by reconnecting with the self and the environment (through the plants!). |
Focus of Practice
Herbal medicines can treat a wide range of health concerns. The main focus of my practice is women's health. I have struggled with my own cycle related health issues and have connected with many other females regarding their own. This includes, but is not limited to, irregular menses, PMS and painful periods, PCOS, and menopause. Plant medicines are great at guiding our bodies back into balance. They act as hormone regulators while dealing with other contributing factors related to other body systems like the nervous system and immune system. Another focus of my practice is shift work. Herbs are great for nourishing and building the nervous system and adrenals while helping with sleep, digestion, and more. This allows shift workers to live a more balanced and vital daily life. |
Education
I studied Holistic Nutrition and Herbal Medicine at Pacific Rim College for 3.5 years, completing my diploma of Phytotherapy (with high honors) in 2016. This is the most comprehensive herbal medicine program in North America, which consists of 2130 hours of Biomedical Sciences, Western Herbal Sciences, Holistic Nutrition, and 510 hours of hands on Clinical Practice. I also studied the foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda (East Indian Medicine), which provided me with a holistic perspective on the mind, body, and soul, and their connection the health and healing. |
